Fearless Faith
For she thought, “If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed.” Matthew 9:21 (NLT)
“And he did rescue us from mortal danger, and he will rescue us again. We have placed our confidence in him, and he will continue to rescue us.” 2 Corinthians 1:10
We all face difficult life challenges for which there seems no good resolution.
On a personal level, terminal illness, financial ruin, and broken relationships are just some of the unfortunate possibilities. On the big stage, it might be changes in government policies that affect our freedom, increased taxation, or war.
This sounds pretty grim, but thanks to our relationship with Jesus, we have a friend and Savior who overcame the world and can direct our steps to peace of mind and plausible answers and responses.
The faith of the woman in Matthew 9:21 is a tremendous encouragement to us. She was able to touch Jesus’ robe and be healed. God has given us the gift of the Holy Spirit, who lives in us and is always accessible. We can exercise our faith at any time, knowing the Lord is with us (“He will not leave us or forsake us”).
As believers, as long as we pray to Jesus and seek scripture relevant to our circumstances, we can have confidence in making important decisions because of God’s faithfulness to respond to our wants and needs.
A great sister in the Lord said to me many times in the face of adversity, that, with God, challenges and brokenness were more opportunities for the Lord to show us His love for us and His perfect will in leading us through our trials.
Prayer:
Father, we want to always have ears to listen and eyes to see the world as You would want us to see it. Thank You for the peace You give us that passes all understanding in situations that seem helpless to us. Thank You for the confidence to make good choices. We praise You, Almighty God! Amen
What Group Number did you have two Sundays ago? Keep praying for the subject of your group and for the others in the group who shared their needs. We are better together, right?
