“Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.”
Colossians 3:2 (ESV)
2 Corinthians 4:18 – reminds us to concentrate our thoughts on the eternal, not on the things that are temporary. Don’t focus your eyes on what is seen, but on what is unseen.
When I focus on a difficult situation, it can get frustrating when it becomes too big for me to handle. It becomes a problem when I keep my mind on something that only God can take care of. I need to focus on God who doesn’t change, not on the things of earth that are subject to change.
God helps me contemplate His Word so I am reminded that the things from heaven are better. Every physical thing God created is good. (Genesis 1:27–30). However, since we live in this body, we continue to fight the afflictions that can pervert God’s purpose for us.
Set your minds on things above. The things of God are better.
Please continue to pray for the leadership team at New Season Church. We are growing and learning. Growing pains hurt and learning new things can be challenging. We will embrace what the Lord is allowing to come. Let us be focused on loving God and loving others. In Jesus’ Name.
