Though some people might forget us, I am so glad that GOD does not forget us.
As the scripture says: Isaiah 49:14-16 (AMP)
“But Zion (Jerusalem in captivity) said, “The LORD has abandoned me, and my Lord has forgotten me.” [The LORD answered] “Can a woman forget her nursing child and have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, but I will not forget you. “Indeed, I have inscribed [a picture of] you on the palms of My hands; Your city walls [Zion] are continually before Me.”
Even these may forget – “Can a woman forget her nursing child and have no compassion on the son of her womb?”
You might have had the trauma of a parent specifically leaving you and somewhat forgetting you.
You are not a mistake. They made the mistake of not being a part of your life.
This passage gives me so much encouragement, even when I thought… “Oh, they will remember me, especially now! Not for the sake of remembering me but for what I could do for them.”
Here is a lesson I discovered quickly: Their forgetfulness shows their character, not mine. Some are for you. Some are with you. Some are just there. Choose wisely!
I read this somewhere, or I saw it on a plaque … It goes like this:
If you meet me and forget me, you have lost nothing. But if you meet Jesus and forget Him, you will have lost everything!
A narrative about a man named Noah found in Genesis 8:1 begins with a powerful statement and a refreshing word for us:
“But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and the livestock that were with him in the ark, and He sent a wind over the earth, and the waters receded.”
Add up how long Noah was in this boat. Some scholars deduce that The Flood lasted 371 days. God had not forgotten Noah. The Lord stayed true to His promise, and the waters receded.
That coincides with Isaiah when The Word says, “Though you pass through the waters (as did Noah and his family), I will be with you.”
So much comes to mind as I combine Noah and Isaiah’s words from the Lord.
“Faith over Fear” is my initial response.
Fear says – I am OVERWHELMED.
Faith says – I will OVERCOME.
My second response: His presence is greater than my problems.
I can be DROWNED by my PROBLEMS or I can be DRENCHED by His PRESENCE.
What I find so wonderful about God is that He remembers us even if we forget Him. Not so much forget Him altogether, but occasionally we forget the following:
A. How far He brought us.
B. How He’s blessed us. (It says to us in Psalms – “Forget not His benefits.”)
C. Where He has brought us from.
