A glimpse is a moment in time when there are signs of what is coming.
Usually, these glimpses come through the Holy Spirit or through words of the prophetic. It’s a brief look at what God is doing in the midst of the evil that is going on. What are we doing and are we paying attention?
When I was 16 years old God started showing me signs that I was going in the wrong direction. I didn’t pay much attention to the signs, so I paid the consequences. Plus, I didn’t listen to the warnings.
In the past when Abraham got a glimpse of what the Lord was going to do to Sodom, Abraham paid attention. When Moses was given a glimpse of Egypt’s future, Moses listened for instructions. However, there was a time when Israel was warned of its future but did not heed to the message and the signs. God sent prophets to warn them, but they didn’t do what they were told.
“When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah’s day. In those days before the flood, the people were enjoying banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat. People didn’t realize what was going to happen until the flood came and swept them all away. That is the way it will be when the Son of Man comes.” Matthew 24:37-39 NLT
The people were enjoying banquets, parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat. People didn’t realize what was going to happen until the flood came and swept them all away. People didn’t realize… We can be caught up in the hustle and bustle of life. We are busy working to keep up with our life and don’t realize what the Lord is up to. Unless we do something. I believe that if we change our ways and start listening to His voice as we quiet ourselves before Him, we will get a glimpse of the future. We can become His voice as a prophet to our world, to warn the people of what is coming. Maybe we can save some. It’s up to us.
We have been having church at the park. Thank you, Lord, for providing a place. We are also aware that the park may not be forever unless the Lord wants it that way. It was hot, then it will be cold. Through it all you, the church, have been faithful to the Lord. Lord we will meet no matter what. As we continue to pray and believe for our own facility or place, remember it’s all to train people to be His disciples and to be sent out to save people from their sins. Jesus is the One who saves, and we are His faithful messengers. It’s a joy to serve with you.
Take a look at what we are up to in Ventura and Oxnard. It’s all to be sent and to point others to Jesus. Get involved and do your part.
I pray for the church. Lord, I pray that Your people will be ready for Your voice as You speak to us and give us a glimpse.
