Peace That Passes All Understanding

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27 (NIV)

Into Your hands
I commit again
With all I am for You, Lord
You hold my world
In the palm of Your hand
And I am Yours forever.
Jesus, I believe in You
Jesus, I belong to You
You’re the reason that I live
The reason that I sing
With all I am.

Mary Kay

Mary Kay

This week some of us experienced the loss of a kind and wonderful sister who loved Jesus while she battled with challenging health issues for the past few years. Although she lost the fight in one sense – and we grieve her loss from our lives – it is comforting and inspiring to know she is in Paradise with the Father and free from pain.

We will miss our sweet friend. We will pray for her family – particularly her children and husband. Mary Kay (“Lady Kay”) kept the faith. Jesus gave her peace throughout these last days. May we all be moved by her example, knowing God’s word in John 14:27 is true.

As believers, we can direct our prayers straight to the Father, our Lord. And we can gain strength from our relationship with Him as well as through fellowship with each other. In honor of our sister, let us stop what we are doing over these next few days and worship Jesus in a fresh way.

Perhaps these song lyrics will help us as we thank God for His love for us and ask for His presence over all of Mary Kay’s family and friends.

You are my shield, my strength
My portion, Deliverer
My shelter, strong tower
My very present help in time of need.
-Miriam Webster, 2002
