Rest in Jesus

“On the seventh day God had finished his work of creation, so he rested from all his work.” Genesis 2:2 (NLT)

Have you ever wondered, “What was God up to?” When I read this section of scripture, I wonder. I do know that God’s ways are perfect. His plans are not human plans. He doesn’t have weaknesses like we do or deal with issues like we do.

God, in His greatness, created something into existence out of nothing. Can you do that? We all know that none of us can. The point is that God, in His busy schedule, “Rested”.

Some of us rest too much and others don’t rest at all… We have been talking about Thinking Different. Doing Different. Being outside the norm from what you are used to doing. COVID has pushed us to a place we have never known. It’s Different!

But it’s not Different for God. He remains the same. He waits for us every day – whatever is going on – rain or shine. God waits for us to run to Him and rest. Yes, rest in Him and cry with Him. Maybe for a moment to say: “God, I can’t do it!” “God, I hate this!” “God, I need You!” When we gather ourselves in His rest, He always gives us peace, security, a big hug, and whispers, “Ï haven’t left you, I’m right here.”

Know that we are praying for you to find this place of peace in your life. Please unplug from social media; take a break from the news; take a daily break with Jesus because He is the One who has all of the answers and brings true comfort.

We love you … We’re with you … We’re praying.
