Waiting for Our When

When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place.
Suddenly (“your then”) a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came
from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. Acts 2:1,2

Think about it. In our lives there is a “THEN” (a suddenly).

While we wait what should we be doing?

Matthew 8
vs. 1 When he was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him.
And in the following verses if we’re not careful we can bunch them all together as if every event is happening all at once.
vs. 5 We see again “when” – When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking for help.
vs. 14 “When Jesus came into Peters house, he saw Peters mother-in-law lying in bed with a fever.
vs. 16 “When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick.
Vs. 18 When Jesus saw the crowd around him, he gave orders to cross to the other side of the lake.

It’s apparent the when is not at the same time. It might have been hours between and possibly days. You and I might be hours away or weeks away, but rest assured your when will come!

Waiting always – introduces us to ourselves!
Three things to do “while we wait” on my then
I. Praise Him
until the door opens (your suddenly comes), praise Him!

Praising Prevents:
• Bitterness (praise & bitterness cannot dwell in the same heart)
• Ingratitude
• Losing focus

When we praise, our attention is on HIM, not on it “the then”

II. Persevere
Definition: Continue in a course of action even in the face of difficulty
Don’t quit – your then is coming! ~ it’s not easy to wait
Truth: God won’t give up on you IF you don’t give up

Before HARVEST time – it’s the HARDEST time
The greatest BATTLE against persevering is between your mind and the manifestation

Lastly: as we wait
III. Prepare
The majority of times the “then” (suddenly) won’t come because we’re not ready for it

In the Old Testament, GOD tells Joshua – you and all these people get ready

What does preparation look like?
It looks different to whatever your then looks like
If it’s going to be cold or hot outside – prepare for it
Whatever you’re waiting on – prepare for it!

The WHEN of Your THEN
While we wait –
• Praise Him
• Persevere
• Prepare
