The noise around us can pull us away from the TRUE VOICE, the whisperer, the lover’s call, and the comforting voice from our God, the Holy Spirit. It’s easy to get distracted from the mission, from the path to sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.
“And he ordered us to preach everywhere and to testify that Jesus is the one appointed by God to be the judge of all—the living and the dead.” Acts 10:42
“A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone, be able to teach, and be patient with difficult people. Gently instruct those who oppose the truth. Perhaps God will change those people’s hearts, and they will learn the truth.” 2 Timothy 2:24-26
Once again, God is removing the idols of this world, temporarily. As followers of God, we must ask ourselves, “what idol have I been worshiping”? God is a jealous God and wants us to worship Him alone. When we remove the idols (the distractions), we can continue to hear God’s mission.
Preach His message of love, and testify what God has done in you. Don’t quarrel, but be kind to everyone. Be a patient teacher; perhaps God will change hearts.
The idols God is disrupting:
- Media
- Financial World
- Politics
- Education
- Science and Medicine
- Materialism
- Food, restaurants, bars
We can even get more specific and go deeper. We can agree that these things (to some degree or another) have influenced our hearts. We lose focus because we depend on these temporary objects. We even fear the future because these things are not stable or normal anymore.
God is calling them idols, so let’s remove them from our hearts. Let God reign and be our King. Let our faith show Him we truly are His followers.
I pray that we will continue moving toward His mission:
Jesus Christ and the Kingdom that is coming.
