“You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless.”
Matthew 5:13 (NLT)
Salt is an element that is small but can overwhelm something larger than its own size. We need to learn from this scripture. While feeling small or insignificant, your saltiness can change many things.
Jesus is informing us that “we are” the salt of the earth. We have a significant assignment to bring flavor to this earth. God pours His Son, Jesus, into our hearts so we can make a great impact in our relationships. Believe that if you ask, God will use you for His purposes.
The Holy Spirit has power to transform people, but we need to be who He says we are. Don’t lose your flavor because you are sitting around doing nothing. Get busy by helping, praying, and serving one person at a time. Jesus is with you. Be salty for Jesus.
Please continue to pray for New Season Church. We look forward to what the Lord has in store. We don’t know where He is taking us. That’s ok.
As long as we keep following Him, our adventure becomes fun, exciting and scary. That is what faith is all about. Trusting the process; trusting the unknown. I am happy to be here with you. Whether Ventura or Oxnard our mission remains the same. People need Jesus and Jesus loves people. Amen.
