A good and beautiful day to everyone!
I pray that you are advancing in the ways of the Lord. May the Holy Spirit be glorified as we continue to have church in a new and happy way. What a pleasure and honor to serve you.
The Word of the Lord is true: “All of us must die eventually. Our lives are like water spilled out on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again. But God does not just sweep life away; instead, he devises ways to bring us back when we have been separated from him.” 2 Samuel 14:14 (NLT)
This verse is a winner in describing, “Our lives like water …” Water is unpredictable. Once it spills, you can’t put it back. So many things about water are like our lives. This season has proven that life is unpredictable. We have no control over big situations. When life separates us from Him because of our fears, doubts and unfaithfulness, the Lord devises ways to bring us back to Himself. His plan. His truth.
This is what we do know… We continue to trust in the Lord. Church has never stopped. Church is alive and well (different, but alive). It’s really up to each of us to remain connected to the church. Know this – we will continue to operate as a “God Church”; preaching, teaching, and singing the gospel of Jesus Christ no matter what. It’s up to you to follow the moving cloud that guides us to the Lord and His people.
We are in communication with our family church, Ventura Missionary, and are following their lead into the new normal concerning when we will resume services at the Willet Center.
We plan to open in the near future…yes, we will open! A date has not yet been set. We have to do the following in order for us to be ready:
1. Keep everyone safe when we come back together.
2. Communicate that church will be different.
3. Get the proper signs (etc.) to ensure safety.
4. Plan how our church service will look (possibly two 45 min. services at 4pm and 5pm).
5. We will keep our online church going.
6. Follow the procedures that Ventura Missionary puts in place (We love this!).
7. Be happy about the new church way.
8. A plan for how we care for our children and teens.
9. Get masks, gloves, sanitizers—all the required essentials to be safe.
10. Pray for a potential June date. We will continue to update you about a potential come back date.
As other churches open, remember that we are not those other churches. We are following what the Spirit is saying to New Season Church of Ventura. Church is not a building; church is people wanting God and the things of God, even if it comes through your living room. We love you and continue to pray for you. May the living God continue to devise ways to bring us back to Himself. Amen.
