Time for a Sabbatical

“Look at how much encouragement you’ve found in your relationship with the Anointed One!

You are filled to overflowing with his comforting love.

You have experienced a deepening friendship with the Holy Spirit and have felt his tender affection and mercy.

So, I’m asking you, my friends, that you be joined together in perfect unity—

with one heart,
one passion,
and united in one love.

Walk together with one harmonious purpose and you will fill my heart with unbounded joy.”
“Be free from pride-filled opinions, for they will only harm your cherished unity.
Don’t allow self-promotion to hide in your hearts, but in authentic humility put others first and view others as more important than yourselves.” Philippians 2:1-3 TPT

Here is a question for all of us. Why do we come to church? We don’t have a home, we don’t have a building, and our traditional church makeup is not normal. Actually, to some people, it is broken and risky. We go from one place to another; the weather is not always our friend at a park. Sometimes it becomes uncomfortable. The parking can be inconvenient.

Every time I stand in the back or look at you from the front, I see a people hungry for God. You desire a new touch from the Holy One. You want more. I know that as we walk together, united in love, with a passion for the things of God, He will show up.

I love our church! I hope and pray that we all come together because of Jesus and what He will do in the midst of this adventure. He will show us the place we will be next. I am moving by faith and waiting for His voice.

As you know or maybe you don’t know, there is much work to accomplish. That is what our team has been doing as we come together and continue our mission here in Ventura and Oxnard. I have been going and doing … so it’s time to rest. In the month of July, I will be taking a Sabbatical. What is that? It’s a time to trust the Lord with His people and His church. I need to focus on myself, my wife, my kids, my health. Time to let the team lead and you, the church, to follow Jesus.

Please pray for me as I take time to have fun, not worry about you, and trust God has everything in His hands and that I will come back missing all of you.

“Walk together with one harmonious purpose and you will fill my heart with unbounded joy.

Be free from pride-filled opinions, for they will only harm your cherished unity.

Don’t allow self-promotion to hide in your hearts,

but in authentic humility put others first and view others as more important than yourselves.”
