Words of Warfare

Good work, family, for completing the 21-day fast for breakthrough toward our future; specifically, the future of our community and for our lives individually.

Each day we received an email to help us pray in unity. The guidance was simple: Speak the scripture and pray the prayer out loud. A magic formula? No, but a God ordained action of warfare. Allow me to explain.

“Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, and He who formed you from the womb: “I am the LORD, who makes all things… Who confirms the word of His servant, And performs the counsel of His messengers…” Isaiah 44:24,26

He created us to be His family.

Now that we are born again and restored to relationship with Him, He will confirm our words…as they line up with His words.

“So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth: it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11

We are His voice (His mouth) on the earth today. If we don’t speak the Word of God, in faith, then who will?

“Then the LORD said to me, “You have seen well, for I am [actively] watching over My word to fulfill it.” Jeremiah 1:12

We have the privilege to declare the promises of God, those promises that He is looking for. It should be hard to keep us quiet!

“Is not my word like fire,” declares the Lord, “and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces?” Jeremiah 23:29

This may be one of my favorite verses about the power of God’s Word. The Word of God is comforting, reassuring and hope-giving, but it is also a fire that burns up the chaff (useless things, ropes that bind) and breaks apart the walls (strongholds) the hold people back from God’s best.

Our 21-day fast provided three weeks of basic spiritual warfare training in using our greatest weapons—the Word and prayer. No one fights to lose…but we don’t fight like the world fights. Hurtful words, fists, knives or guns aren’t the way of God’s Kingdom.

“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.” 2 Corinthians 10:3-6

With the training under our belts (the belt of truth, Ephesians 6:14)…let’s not stop! Continue to speak His Word and pray. Declare His words so angels can be sent to war on our behalf and on behalf of those we love and of those we don’t even know.

“For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding, ‘Yes!’ And through Christ, our ‘Amen’ (which means ‘Yes’) ascends to God for His glory.” 2 Corinthians 1:20

Father, we are thankful that all Your promises (estimated to be over 8,000 in the Bible) have been fulfilled by Jesus. When He fulfilled each one, He boldly declared, “YES!” So we too, commit to speaking Your word and boldly declaring YES to it’s fulfillment! Yes to Your victory! Yes to our breakthrough! Yes to the salvation of family and friends!
