“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13 (NKJ)
As believers, we have made the decision to try and live a life where Jesus is the priority. He is faithful to help us in our thinking and how to act when life situations occur. We allow His strong influence to shadow our behavior and guide us in our treatment of other people. We become more sensitive to other’s needs. We humble ourselves before God to whom we confess our shortcomings, our sins, our unforgiveness.
In other words, the Lord is the Lord of our lives in all respects.
Trials and challenges are going to happen to all of us.
It could be health issues; relationship problems with family and friends; finances; work; emotions; etc. Basically, anything that would undermine our peace of mind.
Thankfully, we know Jesus and we have a positive way to respond in “all things”. God promises never to leave us or reject us. He has seen it all.
“What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again;
there is nothing new under the sun.” Ecclesiastes 1:9 (NIV)
Jesus died for us so we could live for Him.
Through the death and miraculous resurrection of Jesus and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in our lives, God sees us through Jesus Christ.
How comforting is that? And what Jesus asks in return is for us to fulfill the destiny God has for each of us to, first of all, love Him, and then to love our neighbors as we love ourselves.
Let’s pray:
Father, help me to have a humble character that continues to learn from You and grows in my understanding of Your sacrifice on my behalf. Through You, my eyes can see the needs of others and show me how I can be a servant. Since You know all things, made all things, and see all things, I know I don’t need to hide or deny when I do something wrong. Help me to trust You more and quickly to come to You to confess and repent. Thank you, Jesus. Amen
