“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.” John 14:26 (ESV)
We are very blessed to have the Holy Spirit and the bible.
Imagine what it was like for the first apostles who were drawn to Jesus by who He was. His physical appearance was that of an ordinary man, but His presence was beyond measure.
Was Jesus very impressive by the world’s standards? Not really. He wasn’t a homeowner; had little money; and was disliked by those with authority and power.
What the world thought of our Lord didn’t matter one iota to Him. Those in contact with Him experienced discipleship, healing, miracles, and an understanding of the nature and love of God. One encounter was all that was necessary to know they were with the Christ who knows the needs and hurts of each person. He looks on all of us with compassion. He is one with the Father. He offers answers and hope. “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” John 4:8 (ESV).
Jesus doesn’t run from problems and challenges.
He models for us how to think and behave to be vessels of love and peace in all things. We have been reborn through our relationship and acceptance of Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. It puts a smile on your face and lightness in your step knowing you are never alone. We have been saved by God and, like Him, we have no fear of life or death.
The Holy Spirit is the great gift that Jesus sent so we would have a constant companion to help us think through whatever life throws at us and make Godly decisions.
The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit absolutely love us, and it is their greatest desire that all people will be saved. Thanks to the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross there is a way for salvation. The Innocent Lamb who took away the sins of the world.
For believers, it is God’s command that we be available to share the Good News. In this uncertain age of distrust and fear we must stay close to the Lord through prayer, the Word and fellowship. Our lives should reflect a consistency with Jesus that is evident in how we conduct ourselves.
We are Christians and we are not ashamed! We are victorious with Christ.
