Where do I begin? Or where do I step?
There is the OBVIOUS
To experience the next step, we must keep stepping. The only difference between where you are and where you want to be is the steps you have not taken.
Jeremiah 10:23: “Lord, I know that people’s lives are not their own; it is not for them to direct their steps.”
Psalms – the steps of the righteous are ORDERED.
Where do I begin? Or where do I step?
I. Step INTO Your Prayer Room
Prayer is a priority, not a last resort. Reminder: Be Specific! There was the guy who asked the Lord for transportation, and God blessed him with a bike.
Be Simplistic – Just be authentic—no need to use big words with God.
Matthew 6:5-6 (MSG): “And when you come before God, do not turn that into a theatrical production either. All these people making a regular show out of their prayers, hoping for stardom! Do you think God sits in a box seat? Here is what I want you to do: Find a quiet, secluded place so you will not be tempted to role-play before God. Just be there as simply and honestly as you can manage. The focus will shift from you to God, and you will begin to sense His grace.”
II. Step AWAY from Passive Religion
For too long, I think the church has become lethargic instead of changing the culture. It has somehow gone along with it, and for whatever reason, it has lost its cutting edge.
If we hang with the apathetic, we will become apathetic and pathetic …
Return to that radical on-fire, crusader with a cause!
III. Step NEXT to Positive Relationships
We all know that one person will see the glass half empty and the others half full. Ask yourself – what type of relationship do you have? Fake relationships are those who like to see you do well but not better than them.
