Thirst for the Lord

“Yes, and I’m the One who stopped the rains three months short of harvest. I’d make it rain on one village but not on another. I’d make it rain on one field but not on another—and that one would dry up. People would stagger from village to village crazed for water and never quenching their thirst. But you never got thirsty for me. You ignored me.” God’s Decree. Amos‬ 4:7-8‬ (MSG)‬‬

Something went wrong. The desire to thirst after God was lost. When there is a drought in the land, we, as believers, need to recognize that the Lord may be speaking to our own land and to our hearts. Are we thirsting after Him? Are we thirsting after His commandments? I hope we are and continue to search after Him as a deer searches for water.

Water is a precious element for all of us. The Lord is better than water and He wants to be the God we continue to search out daily. We thirst for Him because we’ve tasted that He is good.
